TPGS stands for Tocopheryl Polyethylene Glycol 1000 Succinate. It is a water-soluble, nonionic vitamin E derivative. TPGS is derived from natural vitamin E and modified to improve its solubility in aqueous systems. It is commonly available in the form of yellow to light brown powder.

Function

TPGS has several important functions in various industries. Firstly, it acts as a solubilizer and emulsifier, helping to enhance the solubility and stability of poorly water-soluble drugs and nutraceuticals in aqueous environments.
